Harold was born the 4th of 5 children to George and Alva (Lord) Williams, in Ottertail County. When Grandpa Ira Lord moved to Aberdeen, South Dakota, the Williams family took over the Silver Spray until it was demolished. Harold later married Effie?? and moved to Pleasant Valley, near his cousin Vyron Northup. They had previously made many hunting trips to the area and where they settled on the old Thompson homestead, you could shoot every deer you could eat from the kitchen window. Effie played accordian and Harold the guitar. They played music for area church groups that they belonged to. They had no children of their owen, but raised four Indian brothers; Pete, ??, Allie, and Francis Greenleaf. They later built a new house on the county road and sold the farm to Curt and Faith Binkley. Harold got cancer in about 1980 and succumbed to it's ravages rather quickly. Effie lives on at the same place by herself. |
